James Ambrose Rice of 331 W. Fairmount avenue, State College, retired post office employee, died at the Centre County Hospital at 3:30 p. m. yesterday.
Born at Port Royal March 11, 1877, he was the son of James and Maria Moore? (hard to see) He was married to Esther Harpster? who survives with three children, Capt. Donald Rice, now serving with the U. S. Army in Germany, Frank A. and Barbara Ann, at home. One brother, Gilbert Rice of Stormstown, also survives. He was a member of the Pine Hall Reformed church.
Funeral services will be held at the Pine Hall Reformed church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with Rev. T. G. Jones officiating. Interment will take place in Pine Hall cemetery. Friends may call at his home from Thursday noon until funeral time. (unnamed newspaper clipping, dated by hand May 8 (1945))
